OverSky’s roadmap on the Web3 ecosystem
The road to build the best ecosystem for Web3 gaming
When we started working on Heroes & Empires more than one year ago, we not only wanted to build a high-quality NFT game, but we also had a plan for a whole ecosystem based on the game. That’s why we have a 19.4% token allocation for the ecosystem fund.
In my latest blog post, I have explained the roadmap for Heroes & Empires with some major notes regarding why we are changing the game economy:
To provide a better experience for Web2 players
To provide a better experience for Web3 players as well
To comply with the policies of the App Store and Google Play
To prepare for our upcoming sidechain/subnet and other networks
Add one more monetization channel for a healthy economy of the game
Today, I will explain more in section 4: Our roadmap for DOS Subnet and its ecosystem. Then I will detail our pipeline and roadmap for our upcoming games. This blog post is long but don’t worry; we will break it into different announcements later.
Roadmap for DOS Chain, an Avalanche Subnet built by OverSky, DOS Labs, and Imba Games
Last week's hottest news is that we partnered with Ava Labs, the core developer of Avalanche, the fastest blockchain network, to build our own blockchain network under an Avalanche subnet. We named it DOS, which stands for Decentralized Operating System.
Ava Labs will support us in setting up our DOS and building a whole ecosystem around it. Currently, there are 4 companies and organizations that will contribute to building DOS directly: OverSky (yes, us), Imba Games, DOS Labs, and Vietnam Game Dev. And there are more than 10 game studios committed to bringing their games into DOS, starting with Heroes & Empires.

OverMint, the NFT Marketplace for all games on DOS
For the same reason for rebranding our token, we will use only one marketplace for all the games on DOS Subnet: OverMint. It is similar to HE’s marketplace, but we will add OverSpell and other games, starting with Heroes & Empires, MetaDOS, OverSpell, and AbilityDraft.io. With the current NFT trading volume of Heroes & Empires, together with the popularity of the battle royale genre from OverSpell and MetaDOS, we expect OverMint to be the top 5 NFT marketplace next year.
OverMint will support the BNB chain and DOS chain. Depending on the need of our players, we could even support cross-chain or add many new features later. But for now, you can start using our official Marketplace here: https://OverMint.io.

A bridge portal for tokens and NFTs on DOS
We have partnered with the LayerZero team to develop a bridge to help you bridge your tokens between DOS and other networks. The first supported networks are Avalanche (C-chain) and BNB Chain.
LayerZero is an open and Trustless Omnichain Interoperability Protocol designed for lightweight message passing across chains. Given their unique generic messaging protocol design, anyone can participate in the network as a Relayer or an Oracle. Their technology provides authentic and guaranteed message delivery with configurable trustlessness; the protocol is implemented as a set of gas-efficient, non-upgradable smart contracts.
We plan to make it a cross-chain bridge portal in the future.
A DEX for swapping your tokens on DOS
Our players will need a DEX to swap their $HE or other tokens; we will have it for you. Please notice that this is a long-term roadmap.
A developer portal for DOS Chain
We don’t want to be alone in this space. Apart from the games from OverSky, MetaDOS, Imba, and other 10+ game studios on our alliance, we would like to onboard other developers from our Vietnam Game Dev community (20K+ members) and even other developers around the world.
To do so, we will build a set of tools and SDKs for game developers to use the DOS ecosystem and bring their games into Web3 without spending a lot of resources on blockchain development. After passing our review process, they can use all the services and benefits, such as Unity SDK, marketplace, liquidity, and other Dapps. They will also directly have the grants, technical, marketing and funding support from DOS, Ava Labs, and Avalanche ecosystem.

After we have finished the deployment of Heroes & Empires on DOS and the development kits for game developers. We will onboard other games to the DOS ecosystem. Some of the confirmed titles this year are:

Roadmap for OverSky’s games
Heroes & Empires on DOS
We will open a new game server for the player on DOS Subnet (of Avalanche). All the players will start from the beginning.
HE on BNB Chain and DOS will play the same game client, but you can only match with the players on the same server in PvP. We will add cross-server matchmaking for Legend Tournaments and Grand Tournaments in the future (but not soon since the players on the new server need to catch up with the old players).
Since the new server is for the DOS chain (Avalance subnet), you cannot use your current NFTs on BNB yet. But don’t worry, HE is a free-to-play game now. New players can try the game first and acquire the NFTs by gacha or on future NFT sales. We will develop an NFT bridge within 60 days after we release this new game server on DOS; and before we release OverSpell.
The other benefit for the player on our subnet is the low/zero gas fee mechanism. For example, you won’t have to pay the gas fee for NFT minting when you acquire them. Some transactions will still require the gas fee, but it is much lower than on BNB Chain and even lower than Avalanche C-chain.
Last but not least, as we discussed internally. We will use a percentage of in-app purchase revenue from Heroes & Empires and the upcoming games to buy back NFTs. More details will be disclosed later.
Rebrand the $HE token to $SKY
Since we will use the same token across all of our games, Heroes & Empires is not a suitable name (yeah, there will be some products that don’t have heroes or empires). So we have decided to rebrand the $HE token into $SKY. Here is our plan:
Phase 1: Rebrand $HE to $SKY on DOS Subnet
We will deploy the $SKY token on DOS with the same Total Supply as $HE, at 977,427,250 (Yes, we have burned 22,572,750 $HE already).
We will bridge $HE token from ecosystem funds, marketing funds and locked token for team/advisor on the BNB chain and to DOS by using the top bridge solution from LayerZero team. LayerZero is also our exclusive bridging partner for all projects on DOS.
You wil also be able to bridge $HE on the BNB chain to $SKY on DOS (1:1 bridge) using lock-and-mint model. So the circulating supply is the amount of token you bridge.
All the transactions then will use $SKY, such as staking, voting and in-game spending.
Phase 2: List $SKY on exchanges
We will add the liquidity and list the new token $SKY after we release the bridge. Then we will switch the bridge to burning mechanism (burn $HE and mint $SKY).
Then, the final step, we will add the bridge so you can bridge $SKY from DOS to other networks. We will also let you bridge stable coin from other networks to DOS, still by using LayerZero solution.
New benefits for staking $SKY on DOS
Besides the $SKY you earn from our staking pool, you will be the first people to earn $DOS, the native token of DOS subnet. You will also get whitelisted on DOS public sales. The slots are limited and we will announce this incentive program soon.

OverSpell, the first magical battle royale on Web3
As we announced a few months ago, we are working on our RPG Battle Royale game, which uses the same NFT and token as Heroes & Empires.

Another game using the same NFTs as Heroes & Empires.
